Hooray for Naptime!
I went ahead and scrapped the picture I posted earlier while the kids napped today. It was a rare moment when both kids were actually sleeping at the same time! Ahhhh...it was so nice to have some mommy time!
A shower for Millie and a camera for Mommy!
(Here's a picture of my new camera!
Liz Kohn and the ladies from the church threw Millie a baby shower today. The tables looked like something straight out of a Martha Stewart magazine. It was so sweet! Millie is one spoiled little girl...she has so many sweet dresses and new outfits to wear. Plus, she received tons of other cool things, too! (Even a dollhouse bookcase from Grandma & Grandpa!) We are so thankful for all of the gifts! When we got home, Mason decided the toys were for him! :)
I also got a new camera today! I wish I would have had it for the shower! It's a Minolta Digital SLR. I went with the Minolta at the adivce of my dad (who's been researching them for quite awhile) and since I already have lenses for it. It's going to be a lot of fun! Travis and I should be pretty funny at family get togethers...get ready to say cheese! :) Here are a couple of pictures that I took when playing around with the camera. I've got a lot to learn!
Here's Millie snuggling in Daddy's arms.

When we ask Mason "How big was that fish you caught?" He puts his hands up like this "So big!"

Still learning this blog thing...
I just figured out the comment buttons earlier today! I now have comment buttons enabled at the end of each post. Feel free to comment on our day, or to tell us how cute our kids are! :) (I'm not the least bit proud!)
Tonight at Grandma's, Mason mastered walking up and down stairs. He is becoming such a big boy! I still feel more comfortable with a gate up...I definitely don't trust this new skill yet!

A Day full of Grandparents and a crazy Aunt!
We've had such a great day! Grandma and Grandpa Mize came to visit and brought Aunt Abbie with them! We played and then went to eat lunch at Triple Dog Dare Ya (my favorite place to eat lunch!) It was so good! Mason loved playing Hide & Seek with Aunt Abbie. He was laughing so hard! I enjoyed going through some of Grandma & Grandpa's pictures from when they were little. It's nice seeing "where you came from." Our visit was a quick one...we could tell that storms were moving in, so they had to hit the road. We loved getting to see them!
Tonight, Kay & Lee came over and we had yummy steaks, fresh corn on the cob, fried cabbage, and onion roasted potatoes. It was tasty! Mason was a little crabby tonight, but finally snapped out of it as the night went on.
It's around 10:30 and my oven is beeping at me...I'm making brownies! I had to have some chocolate! :)
I have to share a couple more scrapbooking pages!
Can you believe Mason was once this little? I used the moody blues kit from Shabby Princess, brush by Katie Pertiet, flourish brushes from cottage arts, and grunge brushes for the background.
My little diva! I love her little tutu! I used the Daniele Peuss Diva Kit for this page.

Nothing quite like garden fresh...
Wednesday night we had such a yummy dinner! We had BLT's with fresh garden tomatoes and cabbage out of Kay & Lee's garden. Yummo!! I wish we could have done a garden this year, but Millie's early arrival didn't quite allow us to get it together. There's always next year! :)

Appointment Update
What a busy morning! The kids and I overslept and we ran around like crazy to make it to the doctor on time. Millie weighed 9lbs 15oz. She gained 2 1/2 lbs in a month! :) Mason weighed 29 lbs! You'd never believe he once weighed only 3 lbs. Mason has been fever free today, but the doctor said he could tell that Mason's throat is pretty sore. Poor little guy! We're crossing our fingers and toes that Millie doesn't get it. The both endured their shots like little troopers today. On our way out of the doctor's office, the elevator suddenly broke while we were waiting on it. I was stuck with Mason, Millie, and the double stroller! I had to have ladies from a nearby office help me down the stairs with my kiddos and stroller. That's just my luck!
Here are a couple more scrapbooking layouts that I've done...I hope everyone doesn't get sick of seeing them!
Tyler & Millie on Father's day. I used the Lucky Star Kit by Gina Cabrera and a brush by Katie Pertiet.
Mason is making his popeye face here! :) Photo by Jessica Hollis. I used the flourish & wood brushes from scrapartist and paper from Gina Cabrera's Aqua dreams kit. The labels are from Tia Bennett.

Sick little boy...
Poor Mason has been sick today. He woke up with a 101 fever and it was 103 around two this afternoon. He was so cuddly and didn't really like it when I had to hold Millie! After Tylenol & Motrin his fever came down and he started feeling much better. We go to the doctor in the morning for his 18 month check up and for Millie's two month check-up. I hope he's feeling better in the morning!
My new addiction...
As I mentioned in my first post, I've found a new addiction...digital scrapbooking! It's so much easier than paper scrapbooking and I don't have to drag out all of my stuff. I just do it on the computer, save it and then print it out at Wal-Mart. It's so much fun! I've really gotten a lot of use out of the photoshop program my parents gave me for Christmas! Now I just need to sell off all of my stampin' up stuff and buy a new digital camera.
Here are a few of my layouts. I'd love to know what you think of them!
This was made from a template by Jen Caputo. I used Nancy Rowe Janitz's Sandy Florals Paper, and the metal ring is from the urban kiwi kit from Shabby Princess.
Aren't Millie's feet sweet? I used Anne Lang's papers to complete this layout.
Could my little guy be any cuter? I used the Spring Breeze kit from Shabby Princess to make this page.
If you guys have any questions about how to do this, let me know and I'll try to help you out. Watch out though...once you start, it's really hard to stop!

My First Post
Welcome to the Penn Family Blog! I thought it would be fun to keep you all up to date on what's happening with our family & show off pics of the children! I've recently discovered digital scrapbooking, so you'll probably see lots of my layouts!
We still have our other pages up and running...
http://www.babyhomepages.net/pennfamily I'm going to keep that one going, unless I decide I like the blog format better.
http://www.sweetbabymiles.com I seriously need to update his site...I've received some new entries and I just need to take the time to post them. It's just so hard on me mentally sometimes. I've just needed a little break away from the site after the birth of Millie.
