On Vacation!!

We are taking some much needed time away! It's just so nice to get out of the house every once in awhile!

We met my parents for dinner at Lamberts on Tuesday night (yummy!!!) and then headed on in to their house. Mason thinks he's at Toys R Us!! He's having a ball playing outside and getting spoiled with lots of attention. Millie sure enjoys the extra attention, too!

We are here until tomorrow morning and then we are heading up to St. Louis. I am going to hang out with Kristen tomorrow & that'll be lots of fun! Tomorrow night is Jason & Annie's rehearsal dinner & I look forward to getting to see them. Hopefully Grandma Mize will watch the kids so we can have a kid-free night! :)

Saturday is the wedding and Uncle Sean & I are doing the pics. I am crossing my fingers that I"ll be able to get a couple of good shots that day! :)

Sunday will be two years since Miles passed away. I've been trying really hard to stay upbeat...but he is constantly in my thoughts...and I've been extra teary, too. It is so hard to belive he's already been gone from us for two years. I hate it that he isn't here with us. He would have been such a good buddy for Mason & I can't help but dream about what life would have been like. There is such a void that just cannot be filled. We try to do something fun on Miles' Heaven day...I want the kids to grow up celebrating his little life & having fun memories on those days. We are taking the kids to the zoo. THere's an aquarium at the zoo...and since MIles loved his fisher price aquarium, we figured it would be a great way to remember him.

Last year we invited our friends and family to celebrate Miles' Heaven day with us. He did so much good for others and his life brought so much joy, that we would love to see that continue on. So...we would love it if you would do something good for others on Miles' Heaven day. IT's a wonderful way to honor and remember him...and it does our hearts so much good to hear of the wonderful things that happen in his memory. I would love for you to let me know how you celebrated his day so I can include it in his box of memories.

Please keep us in your prayers...it's definitely a difficult time for us.

We love you all!

Hi Kellie,
I saw the beautiful RAK kit the Eclectic Team put together in memory of Miles, and I just had to leave you a little note of encouragement. I think you and your family are so brave, and it's awesome that you celebrate his Heaven Day with as much joy as you can muster. I'm sure he would have wanted it that way. May God wrap His comforting arms around all of you, and lift you up.
Blessings to you!

I came across your blog while looking for digi scrapping stuff, and have tears streaming down my face. My oldest son, Alex, is hopefully playing with Miles in heaven. Alex was full-term, but had a stroke after a very difficult delivery (on March 24, 1995) - resulting is huge developmental delays, corical blindness, epilepsy, and many other challenges. In spite of this, he was the happiest, strongest boy I have even known. On February 27, 2004 - he went to sleep and just never woke up the next morning. We also celebrate his Heaven Day - and I had never heard of anyone else doing that. I'd love to share ideas with you - vedros1@cox.net I also want to let you know that I will be thinking about you and praying for your family. Hopefully Alex & Miles are playing together with none of their eathly struggles!

My heart does go out to you, I think it's wonderful what you do for Mile's Heaven Day. I have a cousin that lost their 2nd baby in Jan. 2006 (he was stillborn, because the cord was around his neck) & her sister-in-law made a scrapbook for her with a few pregnecy & hospital photos. I saw it last Thanksgiving & she said it helps her, but her husband can't get himself to look at it yet.
Praise God for peace of mind & spirit. Blessings to you & your family,

There is an old Gypsy saying when a son leaves this earth he quickly returns as a daughter ....as you celebrate the heaven day you might want to look into your daughters heart and see if she is the same spirit? Watch as she and the surving twim interact!
We lost a child and forgot how our greif would trigger the other childs survivor guilt....children think they are the reason everything is wrong and if they were better that their parents would be happier My daughter died 3 yrs ago and even though she was 38 I wasnt ready for that !!! and toay on Miles day I finally started her memory album with his kit

You and your family are in my prayers. I can empathize with all you went through before and after through experiences I had with one of my 2 best friends. I remember all the times we were at the hospital praying for her two children to make through the first 6 months of their lives here... all the surgeries, and even the first year after they came home. She had so many premature pregnancies and deliveries... only 2 out of her 5 total prem. pregnancies made it through all of that... and I was always amazed at the strength God gave her every time to try again. So much pain, but so much peace. After 11 years and 5 pregnancies she now has 2 sons that were both premies also and went through all of that and made it. One is 2 and the other 6. God's tender mercies are so Great and I pray he continue to BLESS and strengthen and encourage you, your dh, and your children. I will think of you all often in my prayer times even though I missed celebrating Miles Heaven day with you all this year. Love and Blessings to you all! Shawna

What a beautiful layout of your little guy. So very heartfelt, it touched mine. My thoughts and Prayers are with you all and with Mason. I saw a layout you did that mentioned 'you should have your buddy with you' or something like that. I had no idea about Miles, but it just hit me as so painfully sweet. So Mason has his brother as his Angel watching over him.

I have just finished reading Miles' story and couldn't help but going upstairs to give my little one a kiss. Miles was born less than 6 months before my kid, who also stayed in NICU, only for a few days, on a much simpler condition. Those were hard days and I can't possibly imagine what you and your family went through. I can only say that you are a strong woman, Kellie. My thoughts are with your family.
Sometimes we take things for granted, like being healthy, or having a healthy kid at home, but you reminded me to be thankful for that and for many other things.
I haven't thought of any specific RAKs, but hope to be able to recognize when a potential one crosses my path.
Thanks for reminding us to do good things and think good things!

A day late, but I will remember your sweet Miles.

So. I'll be more careful to not let little things make me grumpy or make my mood go bad. That'll make my husband and children very happy... ;-)

I read about the loss of your little one an of the fond memories that you have. I came across this little poem, not sure who wrote it, but I thought it might bring you a little comfort during this time.
*****************************
Keep my memories with you
for memories never die
I will be there with you
when you look across the sky.

I will be there in the clouds
In the birds that fill the air.
In the beauty of a fragrant rose you will find my memory there.

You will feel me in the tenderness Of a tiny baby's touch
You will hear me if you listen
In the twilight's gentle hush.

When your hearts are heavy
and you feel you are alone
Just reach down deep inside of you for your heart is now my home.

I will always be with you
I will never go away
For I will live on in your hearts forever and a day.

Kellie,
I just came across your blog and had to share with you. 3 years ago I lost a brother that was 2 years younger than I. He pasted away from a heart attack, he was mentally challenged his whole life and we came from a VERY large family of 11 kids. Any how every year we have a party for him ( he died right before his birthday )and the whole family gets together and we remember and share our feelings. This has helped us ALL so much and I had never really heard of anyone else doing this. It's a great thing and my heart goes out to you and yours. God bless , Kandi
